Bordeaux – Naples direct flight: pizza, Pompeii and Vesuvius in a weekend

From 4 December 2026, easyJet launches a direct Bordeaux – Naples flight, twice a week. Naples is Italy at its liveliest: a UNESCO-listed historic centre, the best pizza in the world and, half an hour away, the ruins of Pompeii beneath Vesuvius.

Friday to Monday, the perfect weekend

The timings are made for a long weekend: land in Naples on Friday in time for lunch and fly home late on Monday. Three nights and nearly four full days, taking only Friday and Monday off. It also works well for the Christmas markets and Neapolitan nativity scenes in December.

What to do in Naples

  • The historic centre and Spaccanapoli, the street that splits the old town in two, lined with baroque churches, washing lines and tiny shops.
  • Via San Gregorio Armeno, the street of nativity figurines, buzzing in the run-up to Christmas.
  • Underground Naples, tunnels and cisterns dug beneath the city since antiquity. Book the tour
  • The National Archaeological Museum, home to the frescoes and mosaics of Pompeii.

  • The seafront down to Castel dell'Ovo, with Vesuvius as a backdrop.
  • Pizza, of course: margherita or marinara in one of the historic pizzerias in the centre.

Pompeii and Vesuvius

Half a day is enough for Pompeii, about 40 minutes by regional train from the central station. With more time, combine it with Herculaneum, smaller but better preserved, or a walk up to the crater of Vesuvius. Pompeii tickets

From the airport to the centre

Naples-Capodichino airport is close to the centre. The Alibus shuttle links the airport to the central station (Piazza Garibaldi) and the port in about twenty minutes, traffic permitting. Taxis charge fixed fares to the centre.
